From 1 August 2011 I have been appointed to the board of directors of Distortion, the annual Copenhagen Street Life and Club Culture Festival (in fact the board members are of Nus/Nus ApS which organises Distortion).

Distortion is the brainchild and labour of love and sweat of Thomas Fleurquin, a very Danish Frenchman who has lived most of his life in Copenhagen, where he has been an active participant in all good things underground here.

Thomas and his wife, Gro are good friends of mine, and we live almost in the same neighbourhood. Originally we were introduced by Alexander Aghassipour, a close friend of mine, now a co-founder of Zendesk, previously my co-founder of the web-agency Araneum.

Distortion has been a part of Copenhagen since 1998 and has now developed into probably one of the most important cultural as well as social events during pre-summer here in Copenhagen. This June, probably more than half a million people participated in one big five-days’ long party in the Inner City and out of boroughs of Copenhagen.

Distortion has become a big event with a big budget and a lot of work has to be done in order to secure that the event lives on in the future. Organising to make the streets clean again after a big
Distortion street party is a big challenge 🙂

I am very proud to be part of this project together with a lot of extremely interesting people from the Copenhagen cultural scene.
