Vilhelm – my son at 8 years – attends the Danish-German private school Sankt Petri, which is located very close to where we live.
In the latest review of the quality of Danish schools, CEPOS – an independent Danish think tank dedicated to preserving and strengthening the foundations of a free and prosperous society – rated the school as the second best school in all of Denmark.
Interestingly, CEPOS’ rating of schools is not only based on the grades achieved by the pupils. If that was the case, Sankt Petri would have come out a clear winner for the second year in a row. The rating is based on something that CEPOS calls the teaching effect. This effect aims to show how pupils at a school are doing taking into account not only academic grades but also the social background of their parents.
